Airconditioner (AC)- a machine that exploits atmospheric heat

1. An air-conditioner has a parameter named "COP", i.e., Coefficient Of Performance.

2. A modern air conditioner (AC) COP is about 3.8, which means that when we heat a room ____with an AC, the AC consumes (for example) 1000 watts of electrical power and provides 3800 watts ____of heat power!
This is the reason why AC is so economical when the outside temperature is above 5 degrees
Celsius and below 15Celsius.
3. So, is an AC is a Perpetuum mobile machine? how can a machine provide more power than it ____consumes?
The answer is: an AC does not generate power at all! it takes the heat, i.e., thermal energy stored
in the air of space "A" (atmosphere), and transfers it into space "B" (indoor).
4. Energy/power relations in airconditioner:
Note: the values in the diagram below were taken from Innova 9000 AC.

4. How heat is taken from the atmospheric air? click to AC structure.

Conclusions:
1. Heat can be taken from the air. This can be done both by nature (hurricane) and by an air-conditioner.

2. Taking 1 unit of heat energy from the air requires only about a 1/4 unit of energy...
3. Air "prefers" to convert its own thermal energy into kinetic energy.
